Reflections
We offer our pupils a bespoke programme of Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHCEE) that we call ‘Reflections’. This is designed to address various aspects of pupils’ personal and social development under six key areas: Relationships and Sex Education (RSE); Celebrating Equality and Diversity; British Values; Health and Wellbeing; Staying Safe Online; and Life Beyond School, including Careers.
Each section of the Reflections programme is tailored specifically for every key stage, bearing in mind the emotional maturity and prior knowledge of the pupils. Having a programme that addresses these areas provides a holistic approach to pupils’ development, helping to prepare them for the here and now, and for what lies ahead.
Pupils are mainly taught in their form groups by their Form Tutor, but we also have staff with specialist knowledge who deliver workshops, assemblies and interactive presentations. Pupils are not formally assessed in class, but their learning and progress are monitored during the year through quizzes, mind maps and class polls.
